Amy's Story

Born in New York, Amy grew up in Florida, where she discovered and fell in love with dance. Her passion quickly began to take her around the world. Highlights of her early training include classical ballet with masters such as Melissa Hayden, Robert Lindgren, and Duncan Noble at the renowned North Carolina School of the Arts.
After receiving a scholarship to train with jazz dance legend Joe Tremaine, Amy moved to Los Angeles. There, she trained intensively in a wide range of dance styles under many of the industry’s top choreographers, including Doug Caldwell, Marguerite Derricks, Marcea Lane, Jackie Sleight, and Michael Rooney, among others. This training jump-started her career in LA, leading to performances in numerous live shows and music videos, as well as touring throughout the United States with the Tremaine Dance Conventions.
Following her move to New York City, Amy performed in the cabaret show Hollywood to Broadway, choreographed by A.C. Ciulla. She performed on Late Night with Conan O’Brien and was a member of the international dance company Decadance. She was also selected to tour Japan in live dance events for Triumph Company.
With a continued desire to see more of the world, Amy accepted a contract as a dancer aboard the Queen Elizabeth II cruise ship on its World Cruise, where she eventually met her future husband, an Austrian citizen.
For the past 25 years, Amy has been inspiring dancers by sharing her love of dance throughout Austria and Europe. Owning her own studio, coaching and as guest teacher for workshops in Amsterdam and Belgium, she is very proud that many of her students have been accepted into internationally renowned musical theatre and dance schools and have gone on to pursue successful dance careers of their own throughout Europe.
In 2015, Amy was awarded the title International Ambassador of Dance by jazz dance legend Joe Tremaine. This honor recognizes individuals who have made a significant contribution over many years to the international forwarding of American jazz dance.
More recently, Amy has added a certification in Pilates training to her repertoire. Pilates has been a constant throughout her dance career, and she is excited to now help dancers build strength, deepen their understanding of their instrument, and train in a more efficient, healthy, and sustainable way.
Amy remains deeply committed to nurturing dancers not only as performers, but as confident, healthy artists, sharing a lifetime of international experience with every student she teaches.
